Day 18 Make Ahead Meals and Homesteads are made for children

Christmas time is heading towards us very quickly.  There is a lot of family stress and transitions right now.  We want a smooth Christmastide … the Twelve Days of Christmas between 12/25 and 1/6 when my family celebrates Epiphany, when the Wisemen arrived with gifts for the Holy Family. It is a time of family and friends, a time of peace and just being after all the hustle and bustle.

Today I decided to make some meals ahead before going to work today.  The library was giving away books no longer necessary and I found this book from the 70's and 80's.

I made the turkey mixture for three dinners.  Tomorrow I will make ahead crepes.  One of the dinners from the combination of the two will be turkey crepes.

Yum.

An hour before heading to work we got a special visitor.  Tuesdays are usually Tuesdays with the Toddler. Today he came to the homestead.

We made cocoa.

He was curious.

But after a wee bit of discussion we found he did not like hot chocolate (with an ice cube) and he spit it out.  OHMy...heehee.

So out to the garden we went.  There he found he LOVED pulling up carrots for his mom.

We went and said hello to the sheep.

They were adorable as usual but were skittish of the young lad.  They went and hid in the barn.

The cat was more cooperative.

He did love helping Grandpa with working the tractor for moving manure.

This can be a very stressful time and if there are other issues going on will only add more stress.  We hope you take time to be with friends or family, to enjoy a good book or movie and time to just listen to the silence in nature. (or the loud flock of geese flying over)

peace
