Tuesday .... roofing materials, garden, dinner and quilt

Here' was our list today.. .. Not sure if we could get it done but let's see what actually happened.

Well, first we did something not our our list but kinda. We dropped the grandkids off at their aunt's to go to the pool and celebrate another granddaughter's 9th birthday ,while Dude and I drove to get the copper - metal roofing , all about 2 hours away.

Loaded it on the trailer. Love it!

Here are the metal plans for the roof.

Got it all done in time before the storm.

Back to pick up the kids and head home.  Road work most of the way so it was long getting home.

We got home around 3pm and kicked it into high gear.

Rinsed the sprouts.  Looking good.

Then put dinner in the crockpot.  One chicken enchilada bake and one for the vegetarians was a bean enchilada bake.  Layers of tortillas, chicken (or pinto beans), onions, green chilies, whatever cheese we can find and poured a can of green chili over the whole thing. Place on high for four hours.

The older girls tied a quilt for me.

I went to the greenhouse to pick collards.

Oh look, the cabbage is doing great.

The youngest helped weed ...

and pick radishes.

Callie Cat stuck around to help.

Then the youngest, Dude and I planted 25 cucumber plants and 13 cantaloupe - all that had been started as seeds in the greenhouse.

Look we already have some pickles on the vine.

She was a great helper.

We did it!

The quilt was tied.

Ninja breads came out of the oven.  They need to be decorated.

Collards wash and de-veined and piled high.

Then potted to simmer for a few hours.

Dinner was great and everyone wolfed it down.

Time for dishes. The granddaughters are out riding horses and I will be sewing soon.  Vacation days are wonderful.

Looks like check bee hive and fabric store is first on the list for tomorrow.

peace
