Thursday doings

We ended up putting the Blue hens back with the turkeys last night .  They had escaped from the bullying of the big hens during the day.  One ended up in the arms of the dog, who, was lovingly basting her no doubt for her next meal and the other was found in the field after noticing a hawk circling above. So, they are back with the turkeys and the goats where they are blissfully happy.

I started the morning baking acorn squash and boiling potatoes for dinner.  We are having stuffed sausage, apple and acorn squash and potato salad for Dude.   Here's the squash recipe: here

I put the dried green peppers away and started drying mint this morning. The house smells like spring.

We store our mint in large food grade jars.  You can ask your pizza place if they have any they may be throwing away or if you know someone who works in a cafeteria ask them. You know the kind that carry mustard, mayo, pickles?  They are wonderful...The friends and the jars  - wink.  Thank you Dollee.

The dishes were turned on and potatoes were cooling . It was time to work in the greenhouse and dump the compost bucket.

I began rooting these trees about a week ago. They look ready to plant.

Planted peppers and tomatoes at the far end.

Garlic looks good.

Peas and onions planted by Dude last night.

Came in by 10:15 am to finish dinner.  The book on CD was put in.  Today I am listening to The Interestings.  Squash is finished up and potato salad done and put in the refrigerator.

It was late and all I got done of sewing was cutting out the fabric for a square I want for a quilt. Sunday I want to conquer as a sew day.  Rain is due. That will help the cause - smile.

Time to hit the road.  Hope your day is grand.

peace, health and happiness
