Family, goat hugs, and gathering firewood for the winter.

Breakfast! We had a busy day  ahead of us .  We had a bowl of fruit and omelets for breakfast.

A thawed corned beef was going into the crockpot.

Add spices onions and...

A jar of our sauerkraut.

It doesn't look great but it tastes great... homemade fudge.

My son brought his family for a visit. It made my day.

My grandson loves plants and couldn't wait to go to the greenhouse.

He found a cabbage he wanted to bring home.

Okay but it is very large!

But we can make it manageable.

And he picked some onions.

Gathered eggs.

Everyone got a kiss from Angelo our goat.

Hug a baby goat.

Then the tractor ride!

Watered plants with a fake-out to spray grandma.

We needed the trailer for later today.  My son was great and helped us unload it. Thank you, thank you!

And this is why... someone called to say they had a tree down. If we wanted it for firewood it was ours for the taking.

I loaded up this part.

Dude and a friend loaded these badboys. It is an ash tree... solid and heavy, great for firewood.

Got got enough to last about a month.  We heat our home by wood stove.  Now we just need to get it home.

We got home before this rain began. The corn and the mountains look wonderful.

When we got home the corned beef was in the crockpot and ready to come out. It was nice not to worry what would be for dinner.

Time to put the animals to bed, a shower and reading.

peace
