It's still winter so what are we up to?

This is the time of year for planning. There maybe snow still on the ground and fog settling frozen on the fences but we are planning for spring.  We need to make sure we have seeds and soil ready for our winter garden.  Our snowiest month is yet to come in March.  March is also the time to plant spinach, onions, lettuces, radishes, mustard and collard greens...so we go over the seeds we have and order the ones we don't . We need to clear out and repair fences, spread manure and wood stove ash over the gardens to cure.

We need to decide which projects to finish. There are so many.

Decide if we will continue to keep bees.  If so, then do we order them (a swarm is about $250). Or do we continue to  collect swarms from around the area?

Decide on raising lambs or beef.  Ordering laying hens and meat hens.  Decide on raising ducks. What can we afford to feed?

Our availability of cut wood is dwindling.  We need to split and stack more wood.

Save for gutters and putting up the water tanks we have.

We still do the comforts of winter too... reading , spinning, crocheting and sewing.  Dude love the hobby of hobby trains.

Prepping a new wall hanging.

Oh and eating our canning.

Jam,pepper jelly, beets, caramel sauce, and jalapeƱos.

peace
