Getting ready for new kids.

Two of our Nubians are pregnant.  Nubians are one of the highest milk producing goats.  We mated them with our Skippy , a registered Alpine.  Alpines produce the highest butterfat milk.

Pepper's bag has dropped. (I tried to get a picture but she thought that was improper - I will try later :-)  ) So, we are preparing for the day she has her kids. We have done this a few times and almost every time we were running back and forth to the house. So this time we are prepared. I got this nice picnic basket from the thrift store for $2. Inside I put a sheet, a bunch of rags and a flashlight.  Most of our goats had no trouble birthing. One did have a breech and Dude got up in there and helped turn her around.  What an emotional day and everyone turned out well.

We are very excited about having babies on the homestead again.
