Monday ...bees, horses, greenhouse, recipes, and what we are reading

The swarm we caught are looking good.  See all the bits of white? They are cleaning house and working so hard. Some just take it to the edge and others try to fly it out (see on the ground).

Dude worked Summer for a bit. She can ornery.

More stuff from the greenhouse... melons.

Peppers and cucumbers.

Giant pumpkins.

Beets.

Raspberries.

Very steamy in the greenhouse after watering... melons and tomatoes.

Collards and Cabbages.

Crazy rooster on the water can.

Picked some beets for dinner.

So pretty.

I did get some wool carded. Never-ending process.

Maggie is a great babysitter for the new kittens... future mousers.

Meals for the day.  Didn't do so well on the diet last week but just adding veggies lost one pound.
Lunch is apple date salad.

Chopped lettuces from the greenhouse and a bunch of spinach.

Chop up an apple.

In a large bowl layer lettuce and spinach.  Top with apple, sweet onion, dates and tiny bits of Irish Cheddar for flavor.

Vinaigrette of honey, red wine vinegar, a tablespoon of oil, a pinch of salt, basil and chives (herbs dried from last year) .

Dinner lentil tacos with guacamole and pico de gallo.

Books for this week.

Here's to the start of a new week!
