Sunday ... crafts and saying goodbye to one of favorite horses.

We began the day as we usually do with a large breakfast ...this time is was French Toast and eggs.
Today is Pentecost and our breakfast talk was about how we need more of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

“When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them”. Acts 2:1-4

.... Ah the power of God.

Okay, okay, back to what we were doing...
Then time to tidy up the house and get dinner in the crockpot. Dude wanted lamb ribs again.

Then out to transform a pallet into a mug rack.  Colorado has more cold and cool months than warm ones so someone is always in need of tea, coffee and cocoa.  That means lots of cups and a way to store them.

We have a couple of pallets.  Dude was kind enough to cut them down for me.

And cut it again.

We put a small shelf on the top.

I sanded them down.

Then a break. Family came over to pick up one of the horses for a granddaughter.

We took some time to relax and talk and have dinner.

More roasted vegetables.

And ribs.

Our granddaughter said she didn't like to eat meat but she found she LOVE lamb ribs.

Then it was time to load up our horse Libby. She has been a great horse and would allow anyone to ride her.

The other horse, Summer, became extremely agitated because Libby was leaving.

She ran about the property stomping and screaming.

We said goodbye to Libby.

Family got ready to hit the road for the 2 hour drive back home.

We said our goodbyes and got back to our crafting.

Dude made another lamp.  People are beginning to give us more to recycle.

I made a tea and coffee rack.

It stayed overcast all day.  We hoped for rain but never got any like Denver and Boulder.  We do feel a loss without Libby now. Dude hasn't been able to really ride again since his back surgery. The horses will be happier with someone who can ride.  Summer ran the almost 10 acres, crying, kicking her hind legs and neighing loudly.  We deeply respect our animals. Dude went out to be with her, talk to her and brush her.  He told her he will make her a fresh new stall tomorrow and things will be back to normal in no time.  We got a call from family that Libby settled in with the other horses just nicely. These things are never easy for the ones left behind.  We pray that both horses will go through this transition with grace.

peace
