It has been so dry here and luckily not very cold... yet. Dude and a friend got a wood cutting permit and then when up above Boulder Canyon to get firewood. It was nice weather, no snow but the roads weren't the best. They met campers and hikers along the way but in the end they got the job done.
Two truckloads finished.
It has been so unseasonably warm and our garden is confused. The garlic thinks it is spring and is popping up. I will cover with compost and the apple tree has buds on it and it isn't even winter!!!
We hooked hoses back up and gave everything a drink of water.
Craft time today. Making coasters using the same method I used to make the postcards .
1) pick some fun fabric and iron it.
2) cut Timtex to the size you want. Timtex is a thick heavy stabilizer. Some folks use it to make fabric bowls or handbags. (use for postcards, coasters and whatever else I can get creative with) I find mine in the interfacing section of the fabric store and have it cut by the yard. I have seen it sold by the package too. I like the kind that has adhesive on both sides.
3) Iron both the front and back with the Timtex sandwich between your fabric for the front and on the back I use muslin. If you don't iron them all together at the same time, one side will end up sticking to the ironing board. (Yep, been there, done that.)
4) cut around the whole thing.
It looks pretty thick.
5) zig-zag around the coaster or postcard
Turned out pretty cute.
We are also working on a kindness for each day in December.
Dec 1st - send a postcard to a soldier.
Dec 2nd - bake someone cookies. Okay we baked the cookies. Went to our granddaughter's basketball game and forgot to give them the cookies. It was all with good intent, right? ugh Dude ended up eating half of them on the way home.
peace
