What to do on a cloudy and cool day.

It was cloudy and overcast the last two days.  We hoped for rain and only got a little.  Fires has been sprouting up all over the place due to the dryness.  Today we woke up to a light gentle rain that didn't last be we were grateful for what we did get.

It was so dry, we dug hole to plant our apple trees yesterday and filled it with water.  We had to wait until today to plant them since it took overnight to soak in.

We did begin to water everything this week and they immediately began to bloom.

Peach tree is looking great.

We are getting ready to move the chicks.  It is getting too hot in the greenhouse and too crowded.

Yesterday was card making class.  My friend Sherri is a wonderful teacher and we always have tons of fun.

Today the Threadsisters all got together.  We live all over the Front Range and the Eastern Plains but once a month we come together to sew.  We all bring a dish to share.  We share family stories, pictures, sewing, and always a load of laughs.
Here are our show and tell from today.

After eating a wonderful and fresh potluck we got to work.

This is my mom ~ smile.

Mary working on her applique.

Daisy's embroidery is coming along.

Mom embroiders newborn onsies.

Judy knits and Diane cross stitches.

I am working on this quick quilt. I got a little irritated that is was a kit and short on my fabric requirements. I did get creative on my cutting and made it work.

Time to make dinner... one of our chickens - Beer battered chicken baked, Asian cashew salad, and roasted potatoes.  Dessert - one of the Threadsisters sent home Chocolate Cake with Brown Sugar Butter Frosting. Yum!

peace

Today's Gospel

GospelMT 5:43-48

Jesus said to his disciples:
"You have heard that it was said,
You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.
But I say to you, love your enemies,
and pray for those who persecute you,
that you may be children of your heavenly Father,
for he makes his sun rise on the bad and the good,
and causes rain to fall on the just and the unjust.
For if you love those who love you, what recompense will you have?
Do not the tax collectors do the same?
And if you greet your brothers and sisters only,
what is unusual about that?
Do not the pagans do the same?
So be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect."
